Lifelike – Discopolis (NSFW; technically)

Somebody pointed me to this song, dug it, then saw the video, now it’s a wrap.

Suit Suite

Antonio Azzuolo makes the best suits. Bold statement okay, but it’s tough to denounce. Honing his skills over ten years at major high end labels like Hermes, and Kenzo before moving on to Design Director at both Ralph Lauren’s Purple and Black Labels it’s safe to say his abilities are tried and tested. Mr. Azzuolo presents his first independent line for FW ’08.

Moulinex – Come on Closer (Pineapples Cover)

A pretty cool song, it’s on repeat right now on my ipod.

The Sartorialist for Fall

The Sartorialist always gets awesome images, he really has this luck with running into people with some really awesome ideas and while this gentleman’s outfit is, on the face of it, a shirt-and-tie ensemble, it really is an interesting color combination and the knit underneath is really a nice touch.

Top Fall Fashion

Fall is upon us, and while fashion designers are probably busy promoting their spring 09 lines, here are a few looks that I thought were tops for this fall:

Burberry Prorsum

Dolce & Gabbana

Ralph Lauren

Ralph Lauren

Band of Outsiders

There were so many more looks, I’ll post some more later, as there was way too many looks to just put in one post.

As usual, shots courtesy of GQ.

Let the music take you

So as a fresh out of college burgeoning furniture designer, you’re sitting in your flat bumping A Tribe Called Quest, with your sketch book in hand, but nothing on the paper. The previous 2 pages all have cross-thatching and “WTF!” scribbled beside blotched out shitty sketches, fuck it you know you’re never gonna be Panton.

Matthew Plummer Fernandez had to be the aforementioned guy, with some alpha-wave stimulaters *cough* factored in. Fernandez mapped (volume by time by frequency i.e. 3-D) 719 sounds until I guess he found one that looked like a chair, he then had it water jet-cut in polyethylene foam and slapped £3950 on it. Now you can not only hear music, but see, and touch it too. With a few more tokes brilliant minds we’ll have all 5 senses covered.

Funky Fresh

UrbanOutfitters, purveyors of all things “hip” and “scene” recently updated their site with the Levi’s 510 Twill. A classic done up in some louder tones with a lighter feel. Denim defined street wear for some time, whether it was selvedge, skinny or gray. Recent trends point to a new found affinity for pants (myself included), the frame fitting and vividly coloured. Leave the Dockers at home, or the range.
