Getting high on the sun.

Upstate New York experiences, on average, 4 months of heat, 2 months if you factor in the fact that where I’m from its HEAT 96% of the year. There was a movie out recently called Sunshine. Set in the not too distant future, the premise is this, the sun is no longer as hot as it used to be, so astronauts are en route in a spaceship with a nuclear payload to get it going again. The ship has a ‘sun room’ where the astronauts can enter and fundamentally soak in the sun at varying levels, in one scene one of the astronauts fundamentally gets high off the sun and just about loses his mind.

In Madrid, Spain recently there was an exhibit called Perpetual Sunshine. 334 infra-red light bulbs wired to a computer and programmable to replicate sun levels anywhere in the world. Madris got the Tropic of Capricorn. Come to Rochester please, i’ll take Caribbean Islands thanks.
