The Japanese Gentleman.

Another stolen picture from Kentaro’s blog.

What is amazing is that even though this guy is like 60 years old, his style is progressive and ever-changing. I’m just wondering, does our culture put limits on ourselves? Do we have to “dress our age” here more than abroad?

Think about it, a man his age would not be able to wear that sort of suit outside of New York, if that. I just had a conversation about how the “rational choice theory” of politics does not apply to East Asia, either with the “Realism” school of thought or the “Liberalism” school. Could it be that the same western parameters that we use for our style rules simply do not apply to Japan? Thoughts?
