Q-Tip’s “The Renaissance”

Q-Tip has been one of my favorite artists since I was a child. My older brother was a basketball star and he used to bring me along to playgrounds to play during the summer, it was there that I first began listening to hip-hop. A Tribe Called Quest, Leaders of the New School, and De La Soul provided the sound track for those pick-up games. I was fortunate to be introduced to hip-hop during its golden age, and despite people’s worst fears, there are still those who appreciate and promulgate true hip-hop.

Q-Tip, one of the members of A Tribe Called Quest released an album a few months ago (on my birthday) and I haven’t stopped listening to it. Last month I shared one of his songs “Manwomenboogie,” a very smooth track. Listen to his single “Move” which offers a sound that few artists have given to audiences in a long time.
