The Knit Tie

Many who attended our “Imagine RIT” display on Saturday asked about the Knit tie we had on one of our mannequins, asking where you could get one of them. The one we displayed came from a thrift store, but, I don’t know of any thrift stores with online shopping, so J. Crew will have to do.

This knit tie is actually made with Italian silk and made in Italy as well, and is a slim 2″ at its widest point. It looks good and comes in various colors, plus, it’s on sale for $29. College students get further discounts of %10 (I think?).

Check out the tie here.

It’s about time you featured some knitting on this blog!

Well, you could always learn to knit and then make yourself a tie like the one featured. Knit Picks offers more than one free knitting pattern on their site.

Would knitting a tie like the one above require a certain level of expertise? Or is it something that can be picked up pretty easily?

I wouldn’t recommend it for your first project, but an advanced beginner should have no trouble with it. So maybe make it your 3rd or 4th project.
