The Band Collar

So there is a lot of commotion over the Club Collar, as the new avant garde way to show how different you are (ps, I own one too) but perhaps the best way is to try another collar altogether: no collar at all.

There is not too much controversy here, to be honest. Can you wear it with a suit? Maybe, if you want to look like a older Middle Eastern man, and if you don’t have the street cred (notice author’s name) then that’ll be difficult.

My suggestion? You should use it as a stand-alone shirt for the summer. I am the type that feels my shirt has to have quite a bit of character for it to stand alone, whether that be pockets, patterns, or material. So, the Band collar is quite the find, especially since this Ralph Lauren Rugby shirt is only $50.

What makes this particular shirt stand out is the pattern that is generally hidden behind the button placket; it gives the shirt a little extra shot of character, a little detail to set it apart. I really like those details.

You can check this shirt out here.
