Casual Pin Stripes, Singapore

This Malaysian gentleman found in Singapore illustrates how to take more “formal” clothing and translate it into a casual outfit. The secret is in the details.

There are really three major elements to this. First, he took a military-inspired shirt, made sure it was sans-tie and perfectly white, to contrast the formal air of the pin stripes. Then, the brown belt is far less business and more rugged.

Finally, the sneakers are what complete this look. They offer a very different feel to what should normally be worn with a pin stripe suit, and for those that can do this, I highly suggest it.

For the record, I cannot.

Sneakers with a penstripe remind me of David Tennant in Doctor Who.
