Desert Boots for Another Crowd

So many of you have followed our appeal to the promulgation of the desert boot. Contrary to what many people believe, that shoe is not some sort of fad or waning consumer obsession. Sure, it might have been pushed by various media as the premier footwear choice for leisure, but the truth is that it is quite the classic item.

The chukkas above? Oh, these are custom-made boots. The Alden Flex Chukka, in a cognac leather, is quite frankly beautiful. The sole is not comfortable because of it having similar rubber-like properties of Clark’s desert boot. Rather, the leather sole is actually soaked in oil, making sure it has a broken-in feel from the first time you wear it.

They are obviously a bit expensive, but with the sort of quality and durability you’ll get from these boots, I’m not sure if you really can match them. Sure, Clark’s are undoubtedly a rugged shoe that are meant to take absolute beatings, but, you’d be surprised how durable these boots are. Granted, they are more for show than function, the truth is when Clark’s first started making their famous desert boot, they had soles similar to the ones above.

You can check these out here.
